I was recently awarded the National Science & Technology (NST) Fellowship for the academic year 2023-2024, a prestigious award granted by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST). This esteemed fellowship serves as a recognition of my academic excellence and commitment to advancing the fields of science and technology.
The selection process commenced with the consideration of 1318 applicants from the Physical Science group, all aspiring for the MS category. After a comprehensive second-phase evaluation, 1204 recipients got this prestigious fellowship. My registration number was 04, and I held the merit number 279. See the result here.
I emerged as the champion in the Barishal University IT Society's (BUITS) Typing Master Contest 2.0 held on March 26th, 2023. With a typing speed of 60 words per minute and an accuracy of 97%, I secured the top position. This competition was a valuable experience that motivated me to exceed my limits. In 2021, I was honored to receive the prestigious L. Austin Weeks Undergraduate Grant from the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Foundation. The AAPG Foundation's L. In September 2020, I enrolled in the 'Computer Programming and Data Analysis with Python' course. I actively participated, becoming a regular attendee in the interactive sessions that delved into the subjects covered in each class. These sessions provided a platform for sharing my insights through presentations and addressing any misconceptions. Upon completing the course, I was honored with the 'Best Participant Award – 2021,' a prestigious recognition shared with two other participants out of a cohort of about 190. This achievement not only affirmed my dedication but also ignited a profound enthusiasm for programming within me, propelling me forward with newfound fervor.
I was honored to be recognized as one of the top three winners in the competition titled 'Hunting for the Paleo-Catastrophes: An Earth Scientist’s Tale,' held on October 8, 2020. This comprehensive program delved into various intriguing topics, including (a) Landscapes with Craters: Meteorite Impacts, Earth, and Solar System, (b) Target Earth: Present, Past & Future, (c) Formation of Impact Craters, (d) Shock Metamorphic Effects in Rocks & Minerals, and (e) Strategies for Identifying Impact Structures.
